This expansion follows Walmart’s previous venture into prestige beauty with Space NK and aligns with the growth of its marketplace, which saw a 32 percent increase last quarter. As competition intensifies, especially with Amazon's significant beauty sales, Walmart aims to offer a compelling shopping experience by integrating customer search data and focusing on popular and emerging brands. Walmart is also providing fulfillment services to support smaller brands in reaching customers more efficiently. The Premium Beauty launch, timed before the holiday season, reflects Walmart's strategy to innovate and capture a larger share of the beauty market.
