Rachel Zegler & Jack Antonoff: A Surprising Connection in Pop Culture's Spotlight

Source: Cosmopolitan

When Rachel Zegler bounces into the Cosmopolitan office in a casual strapless dress and spots music legend Jack Antonoff, he greets her with a question: Is she ready—does she know her lines? He’s referring not to their conversation, but to Rachel’s leading role as Juliet in the Broadway revival of Romeo + Juliet, where she’ll deliver classic Shakespearean lines live, opposite Heartstopper’s Kit Connor. Rachel pulls out her Dior notebook, filled with carefully handwritten iambic pentameter, and replies, “Almost.” Meanwhile, Antonoff, the Bleachers frontman and hit-producing powerhouse, is ready too, having created original music for the show. Directed by Sam Gold in a glitter-strewn, Euphoria-esque style, this adaptation aims to captivate new, younger audiences and underscore the play’s timeless themes of love, hate, and generational trauma.

Why You Should Skip the Beauty Advent Calendar Hype This Year

Eva Mendes recently opened up about beauty treatments and aging in an interview witI thought we’d reached peak Advent calendar madness back in 2021 when Chanel’s $825 beauty calendar went viral for all the wrong reasons. Yet here we are, and the highly packaged, giftable trend is still thriving. Anthropologie’s 24 Days of Beauty calendar is one of 2024’s hottest items, retailing at $98 with a claimed $304 value—already sold out and reselling for $175+ on eBay. Target’s 12 Days of Beauty ($20) and NYX’s Home Alone-themed calendar ($110) with 24 full-size products are also generating buzz. But are these calendars worth the price? And what about the excess packaging?

I discussed this with journalist Darian Symoné Harvin, who covers beauty on her Substack, Studio Symoné. She noted that if you’re not certain you’ll love all the products, these calendars can be hard to justify. “The best Advent calendars focus on a single type of product you’ll actually use—fragrance, candles, nails,” she says. Her recommendation? Pick something practical. For instance, OPI’s calendar offers 12 mini polishes ($49.99), while Manucurist Paris has a set with 24 full-size nail essentials ($139). In her view, these types of calendars are much more functional and less likely to lead to wasted products.

Reading Between the Lips: The New Face of Celebrity Gossip

Recently, a video emerged that set off a buzz among fans invested in Kendall Jenner’s hair and celebrity interactions. The clip, filmed on Sept. 23, shows an animated exchange between Jenner, singer Camila Cabello, and actress Eva Longoria during L’Oreal’s annual fashion show at Paris's historic Palais Garnier. What were they chatting about? Were secrets spilled, gossip exchanged, or perhaps even a mention of Jenner’s rumored love interest, Bad Bunny? Naturally, curiosity piqued.

A week later, Jackie Gonzalez, or “Jackie G,” from San Antonio, offered an answer. Known for her “deaf girl lip reads” videos, Gonzalez, who is deaf, has gained social media fame by decoding celebrity conversations in paparazzi footage. In this clip, Gonzalez appears on screen, overlaying the footage of Jenner and her friends in Paris, ready to break down their chat. With her spunky demeanor and oversized glasses, Jackie G approaches her work as a “public service,” feeding the audience’s thirst for what she calls “tea.” This time, her inbox was packed with requests to decode the Jenner-Cabello chat.
