Hollywood Veteran Calls Blake Lively Interview a Career Struggle

Former Channel 7 showbiz reporter Nelson Aspen has named and criticized the worst celebrities he's interviewed.

The 61-year-old Hollywood veteran, who worked as an entertainment correspondent for the Australian show Sunrise for two decades before stepping down in 2022, joined fellow showbiz reporter Kjersti Flaa on her YouTube show. The pair discussed their many encounters with celebrities throughout their careers as journalists.

Flaa is known for revealing her “nightmare” experience with Blake Lively, a story she shared publicly in August, which led Aspen to recount his own "combative" interaction with the 37-year-old actress.

Aspen recalled that his first interview with Lively, to promote the 2016 film The Shallows, was “fun and playful,” and he was “gobsmacked” by her beauty in person. However, he described a very different encounter two years later when he spoke with Lively and her A Simple Favor co-star, Anna Kendrick.
