Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins returns to Channel 4 this Sunday, featuring comedians Tez Ilyas, 40, and Shazia Mirza, 45, as they take on the intense special forces training. In this special edition of the show, the duo opens up about their motivations for joining and what the experience meant to them.

When asked why he agreed to participate in the show, Tez explains, "I was asked, and it's always flattering to be invited, especially for something as high-profile as a TV show. But beyond that, I thought it would be an incredible experience—one that money can’t buy." He reflects on his career as a stand-up comedian, sharing that traveling from town to town for performances often leaves him feeling disconnected from the places he visits. "After a while, it starts to blur into one. I go to these cities, perform, and then leave without really experiencing the place. So, I thought, 'Wouldn't it be great to stay in one place for a couple of weeks, if I make it that long!'"

He admits that he never considered himself SAS material but still found the idea of undergoing SAS-style training and exercises incredibly exciting. “The chance to try out that kind of intense training was something I couldn’t pass up,” he says, hinting at the adventure and challenge that lay ahead.
